WHO SHOULD ATTEMPT ENTRY INTO PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY?

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY is an intense program series for the serious individual who demonstrates a desire to enter the arena of Professional Photography. Success in the program is measured by creative performance as a Photographic Designer of images.

This is NOT a program for the photographer as a technician. Rather this is an exercise in learning for advancing BOTH technical and creative skills in superb image creation. The tools used are shared almost equally with the camera and the computer.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS DAYS & EVENINGS

Students attend day sessions for eight, 10 week quarters. They usually take two or three four credit courses each quarter. Evening students attend eight, 10 week quarters for the entire sequence which is a Digital Photography for four quarters .... and, Digital Video for another four quarters. Students may elect to take only Digital Photography or Digital Video evenings. Financial assistance\need will vary with the number of credit courses taken evenings or days.

January 12, 2009 - March 26, 2009

Evening and Day programs start on the dates above. Certificate students may also take some of their required courses in day sessions as schedules permit. Students may attend evening sessions as schedules permit.

The Registrar’s office will schedule class times and coordinate course registrations with the student.

OWNING YOUR
DIGITAL CAMERA

will allow the student to gain maximum benefit from the rapid pace of this program series. This is a requirement. The camera related specification follows:

SLR (single lens reflex) digital camera. This assumes the camera has manual settings as an option. Any brand is satisfactory. A basic wide angle zoom lens is fine. The Olympus brand is perhaps more compact and offers a very wide lens selection.

Memory card for the camera. A 1GB or 2GB card is satisfactory.

Tripod .... a basic model is okay for still use. WalMart or Target have acceptable selections.
