from usual degree granting courses, but may contain the same content.

over the usual two or three day seminar format programs. All are hands-on

course is an exploration of advanced visual styles and an introduction
to Adobe Illustrator. Drawing becomes a key activity
as students learn that traditional media techniques are applicable
in the electronic world. Students work toward consideration of
a drawing and/or design style along with typography. A personal
sketch diary provides a lasting option for future creative development.

course provides an introduction to design theory and digital tools
for the graphic artist. Students gain skills in scanning artwork
and drawing using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
Students practice experiencing the design process and using digital

This
course explores the theory of color and the psychological emotions
that it involves. Students are introduced to the properties and
interaction of digital color using Adobe Photoshop.
Exercises involving color manipulation, color correction and opportunities

create web pages using a combination of HTML coding and Macromedia
Dreamweaver and Flash. Strategies are
explored for developing web pages that are rich in content but still
download in a short span of time. Actual web pages are dissected
to learn techniques and gain creative inspriation. 60 hours |

The
compositing software, Adobe After Effects, is
examined along in a project studio environment. The process of
building layered elements includes titling and special effects.

course introduces the student to animation on the Internet using
Macromedia Flash. Students learn to do traditional
keyframing and then move on to computer based cell animation. They
also incorporate sound and interactivity into their animations.

refining and advanced exercises make up a substantial part of
this compositing course. Adobe After Effects
is used to direct development of production components in support

course provides instruction for accessing the Internet and creating
basic web pages. Students create web pages using a combination
of HTML coding and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Students

program explores imaging via digital still cameras and/or scanning
film along with maturing finished images. The process begins with
attention to composition, design and lighting. Images are color
corrected, manipulated, arranged and critiqued for image quality,

This
course begins the study of 3D modeling and animation utilizing
Maya software. Topics include creating 3D objects
from 2D shapes, creating primitives, polygonal modeling, plus

course examines the "art" of character personality and
form. Emphasis is on creating style and expression of the character.
Drawing techniques for preproduction are used in this course as

Creating
believable and psychologically motivated movements that are crucial
to effects in 3D animation. This course looks at techniques for
creating 3D movements that do not appear artificial and reflect
the individuality of the character utilizing Maya sotware. 60

In
this course the production phase begins using Maya.
Based upon the preproduction work, objectives are documented and
models are created. Set design is also roughed out and block models
are used to set up and test various shots. 60 hours |

Students
explore advanced techniques in 3D animation during this course
utilzing Maya software. They set up complex expressions and dynamics
to automatically produce an animated response. Advanced environmental
effects are created using particles. 60 hours |

This
course is a continuation of the production phase. Final details
are now added to the models using Maya. Texture maps are finished
up in a paint package from manipulated scanned images and original
artwork. 60 hours |
